Server Technical Services Engineer/Help Desk

South River Technologies, a leader in Managed File Transfer and Collaboration Solutions, has an immediate need for a Technical Services Engineer.  As a member of our team, you will work directly with the engineering team, sales team, and our customers to diagnose and resolve configuration issues with SRT software.  This is a great opportunity for a motivated, flexible team player who wants to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and growing company.

Responsibilities:  Including, but not limited to:

  • Provide online, streaming, and telephone technical support to customers
  • Create and maintain knowledgebase articles
  • Assist customers with client-server configuration issues involving FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, and cloud services
  • Assist customers with product evaluations and Proof of Concept (POC)
  • Provide professional services to assist with installation and configuration. May occasionally be conducted outside of normal business hours
  • Provide regular feedback to engineering for customer enhancement requests
  • Assist engineering with product QA testing


  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related
  • 1-3 years as a technical support engineer or help desk technician
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work patiently with customers to resolve technical issues
  • Ability to interact with product developers, sales team, and management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows environments including Active Directory, NTFS, Windows Shares
  • Working knowledge of networking protocols such as FTP, SFTP, SSL, SSH, WebDAV
  • Working knowledge of firewalls and routers
  • Working knowledge of cloud services such as OneDrive, Amazon, and Google Drive
  • Experience interacting directly with customers
  • An interest in technology, and the desire and ability to quickly learn new technologies
  • Knowledge of security concepts including secure protocols, encryption, public/private keys, certificates, and TLS is a plus
  • Ability to work from 8:30am to 5:30pm Eastern Time, with occasional after-hours work
