Michael J. Ryan
CEO, Co-founder
Michael Ryan brings over 20 years of software development and business experience to SRT. In 1992, he was a member of the initial start-up team of Maryland-based OTG Software (OTG was acquired by Legato and subsequently EMC). In 1996, he left to start KnoWare, Inc., where he developed Internet Drive-Mapping technology. In 1999, Mr. Ryan joined California-based online storage startup Xdrive as Vice President, Client Architecture. During his tenure, the company grew to over 200 employees and raised over $100 million in venture financing (Xdrive was later acquired by AOL). In 2001, he joined John Glavin to merge KnoWare with Riverfront Software to form South River Technologies.
Mr. Ryan was the founding President and served on the Board of Directors for the Chesapeake Regional Technology Council (CRTC). He served on the Board of Directors for Sonum Technologies, a Maryland-based artificial intelligence firm that specializes in the development and application of natural language processing technology. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Chesapeake Innovation Center (CIC), a hybrid incubator and accelerator serving Maryland’s innovative technologists, entrepreneurs, start-ups and small businesses.
Mr. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Loyola College in Maryland. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors for LAUNCH! Annapolis and a member of the Board of Directors of the CyberSecurity Association of Maryland (CAMI).
John C. Glavin
CTO, Co-founder
Mr. Glavin has over 20 years of software and technology experience as well as a deep knowledge of the specialized operating system and device driver level of product development. For nearly ten years he was a highly regarded software consultant who headed a firm with clients such as Vanguard Instruments. In 1997, he founded Riverfront Software to further the ongoing development of the WebDrive drive-mapping technology and bring it to market. In 1999, he also joined the California-based Xdrive start-up effort, where he met Michael Ryan. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Cal Poly in Pomona, CA.
Tracy M. Welsh
VP Business Development
Ms. Welsh has worked in the technology sector for over 20 years, specializing in document management and portal development areas. She has extensive engineering and marketing experience. She served as Director of Product Marketing for Sequoia Software until Citrix acquired Sequoia for $157 million. At Citrix, she worked as a technical liaison to the analyst community and headed a customer education project team. She joined SRT in 2002, focusing on increasing site and enterprise license sales and building SRT’s online marketing programs. Ms. Welsh graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Computer Science from Southern Ohio College and has completed Stanford University’s Executive Education Program for high-technology marketing, and is Pragmatic Marketing Level III Certified.
